meI was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1966. By the time, I was 21 I had lived in seven different states. This gave me a very diverse American experience. This experience gave me an advantage when I joined the United States Navy in 1987. I traveled and met people from all over the world. When I left the Navy, I returned to school and received my Bachelors degree in literature and Masters in curriculum and instruction from The University of Tennessee.

I chose to teach high school because; I believe it to be the turning point in student’s lives. I find it exciting to see students turn into the adults they were meant to be.
